FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND EVENT TIPS

1. Where are your events held?
a. Our events are held at various clubs/restaurants in the downtown core. If a venue for an event is not listed yet, it will be listed at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

2. What do your events cost?
a. You can find the cost of each event in each event box.

3. On the site it reads "meet up to 25 (or 15, or 10 depending on event) people. Does this mean I might only meet 5 singles?
a. No. Any event that is held is always sold out. However, when having that many people attend an event, there is a chance that not everyone will make it. We usually overbook to compensate for that, so you could meet a few more singles, or maybe a few less.

4. How do I know if an event is sold out?
a. You will know an event is sold out because that will be stated on the web site, (at the top of the event box).

5. The event is sold out, can I be placed on a waiting list?
a. Yes you can. To be on the waiting list, you would just sign up for the event. You will not be asked to pay, you will only be told that it is sold out and would you like to be notified should a spot become available. This way you are in priority sequence on the list.

6. Is the individual registering provided with the opportunity to indicate personal preferences (such as ethnicity, age range, etc.) of the "dates" that he/she would like to meet? Are participants screened?
a. WCC introduces people in a casual yet controlled manner. We have specific age categories, however, we believe in letting participants make their own decisions about who they would like to see again.

7. At 37, I am over the age limit for your 25-35 group. I wonder if I am still eligible to participate in this group?
a. We will allow for two years older or younger than the specified age group. In order to ensure the satisfaction of all participants, we ask that you comply with this condition.

8. Can I pay by certified check or money order?
a. Yes you can, as long as it is at least 12 days prior to an event. Just mark the "I would like to pay by certified check or money order" box during your sign up. You will then be given the mailing address.

9. I would like to pay by certified check or money order, but that option is no longer available.
a. This option is only available up to 12 days before any event since we require 10 days to process the funds. After that, the only way to pay is by VISA/Mastercard, using our secure site.

10. Is there a fee for each "successful" match?
a. No, your matches are included in the initial fee. There are no additional or hidden charges for this service.

11. Can I pay at the door?
a. As we want to make sure that we have specified number of people for each event, we cannot accept funds at the door as it increases the chance of someone not making it.

12. How do I cancel for an event?
a. If you need to cancel your WCC party, please send us an e-mail at info@winecountryconnection.com
Title your e-mail "Cancellation" and in the body of the e-mail, give us your first and last name and specify what party you are cancelling. To receive a refund (minus a $5 administration cost), please cancel 5-business days prior before the event. There is no charge to transfer your spot from one date to another, and this can be done if you send in your request up to 5 business days before the event.

We are unfortunately not able to give you a refund if:

* you do not cancel five business days prior to the event.
* you do not make it out to the party.
* you are so late that the event itself has already started.

13. I did not get an email
a. If you have a Junk mail filter enabled, our mail might have been redirected to your junk mail folder. To prevent emails from winecountryconnection.com being redirected to your junk mail folder, please add info@winecountryconnection.com to your email address book and/or safelist.

14. Is anything provided at the event?
a. We provide the hors d'oeuvres, scorecards, pens and nametags. Depending on the event there might be extra perks. The details of each event will be shown on the site. Just click on the individual listing.

EVENT TIPS

15. I noticed that your web site said that if you don't have a match at one event you can go to another one for free. Is this true?
a. We want our customers to be happy. If you do not find a match at your first event, you can go to one similar future WCC event for free. This policy is reserved for regular speed-dating events only. Participants of our special events (including charity speed dating events) will receive a 25% discount on a future regular event should they not receive a match at their paid event.

16. What should I wear?
a. We suggest dressing as you would when going out on a date. Smart-casual.

17. What's the procedure once everyone arrives at the Club/Restaurant?
a. Once you arrive at the venue, you will be handed a scorecard & instruction sheet, a nametag and a pen. Once all participants are signed in, a WCC representative will give you detailed instructions as well as answer any questions you may have. Women will stay seated, men will be signaled to rotate every three minutes by a bell (for our gay and lesbian events, the meeting procedure is slightly different, to be explained upon arrival). After each date, participants write "yes" or "no" on the scorecard next to their dates' ID#s as to whether they'd like to see that person again. The men then rotate and the next date begins.

18. Is each person allowed to choose more than just one person to see again?
a. Yes, you can choose as many or as few people to see again.

19. With each date being only three (or five) minutes, what if after I meet somebody I'm still not sure whether to mark this person as "yes" or a "no"?
a. If you are undecided about whether to mark someone as a "yes" or a "no" on your "scorecard", we would suggest that you mark them as a "yes". This way, if there is a match (meaning they also picked you) you can take more time to get to know them later. And don't forget, not everyone has to be a love match. Some great friendships have also started at our events.

20. How long does it usually take to hear who you matched with?
a. Two days. You will receive an e-mail from us that will include the first name and e-mail address of the people you matched with. You take it from there.

21. Does everyone get an email whether they have a match or not?
a. Yes. If you have not heard from us within two days, please contact us as it means there was a problem with your e-mail address.

22. How do I get the most out of this experience?
a. Our best advice to you is to keep an open mind and a positive attitude, simply because you never know what's going to happen, or who you're going to meet. If you have a preconceived notion of the type of people who will be there and who you want to meet, you may be selling yourself short before you even get there. Remember you are meeting up to 25 people you may never have otherwise met, so if you keep an open mind, you'll find others will treat you the same way.

23. Do you have any other tips for me?
a. Feel free to make your own decisions regarding who you want to see again. Sometimes friends come together and influence each others' decisions on whom to pick. Remember this is your personal taste, not your friends'.

* Remember to always have a drink on hand, water or otherwise. You will be doing a lot of talking in a concentrated amount of time.

* Try not to have the same conversation on every date, as this may get slightly boring and repetitive.

* Remember to not only tell things about yourself, but to listen to what the other person has to say as well. This will help you make a more educated decision about whether you'd like to see them again or not, and it's also a common courtesy.

* If you meet someone at the event whom you don't feel the chemistry with, but who you think might be a good friend, why not tell them right away that you will mark them as a "yes" as you would like to be in touch as friends? This way you both know where things stand and you might have gained a friend.
